The Korian group announced it on Wednesday. A new death from the Covid-19 suites was recorded at the La Riviera Mougins nursing home, bringing the death toll to 38 dead in this establishment in the Alpes-Maritimes which had 109 residents at the start of the epidemic.

The prosecutor's office of Grasse opened an investigation into this wave of deaths, counts of "manslaughter and failure to assist people in danger". It has been entrusted to the gendarmerie and the Central Office for combating damage to the environment and public health (OCLAESP).

Ten complaints filed

On the side of families and civil parties, ten complaints were registered, indicates Me Fabien Arakelian. The latest, filed this Wednesday, concerns a resident who died on March 26. Filed against X, it targets counts of "manslaughter, endangering the life of others and failure to assist person in danger".

The complainants indicate that they were not "kept informed of the deterioration in the state of health" of their relative and that they only learned on April 3, the day of her cremation, that her death certificate bore the mention "suspicion of Covid-19 ". They had already filed a previous complaint for endangering the lives of others.

On April 23, the prosecutor's office in Grasse reported a total of nine complaints, including one from the town hall of Mougins.
