Departures without a travel certificate will be possible from May 11, the scheduled date for deconfinement in France. Before the Assembly, the Prime Minister said on Tuesday that a certificate will, however, be requested "for travel more than 100 km from home, which will only be possible for a compelling, family or professional reason".

"It will again be possible to move freely, without certification," said Edouard Philippe during the presentation of the deconfinement plan. "Except (...) for trips more than 100 km from home," said the Minister. These movements will be limited by another constraint imposed during the deconfinement: the strict limitation of interdepartmental or interregional movements, always reduced after May 11 "solely for compelling professional or family reasons, for obvious reasons of limiting the circulation of the virus", announced the Prime Minister.

"No time" to go on weekends

Transport will be very reduced anyway: "We will continue to reduce the offer, to require a compulsory reservation in all trains - TGV or not -, to discourage travel between departments," noted Edouard Philippe. "Ascension Thursday will be a great holiday, but I am making it clear to the French that this is not the time to leave their department to go on weekends," he warned.
