Recently, a construction unit in Xingtai accidentally discovered a stone tiger carving while carrying out construction work in Longyao, Hebei. The cultural protection experts initially verified that it was a cultural relic of the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties. The stone tiger was unearthed about 1 meter deep when it was unearthed. It was basically intact. The stone tiger and the lower seat were carved from the same stone. The height is 1.78 meters. The shape is simple and the tiger is gentle. It is in line with the stone tiger of the Yuan Dynasty. style.

According to Wang Bo, a local literary and historical scholar of the Longyao County Culture, Radio, Television, Sports and Tourism Bureau, stone tigers are different from stone lions and generally appear in ancient tombs. Therefore, judging from the unearthed location of the stone tiger, it must be a Shinto stone beast in front of the ancient tomb. Such a huge stone tiger is basically intact, it is rare.

According to historical records, the Yuan Dynasty in Longyao County is called Tangshan County in the Yuan Dynasty. The "Tangshan County Chronicle" records: There are three ancient tombs in Tangshan County (in the order of the old chronicles): 1. The tomb of the Bohai Gongzi in the Yuan Dynasty (in the east of the county) 2 miles, there is a stele); 2. Tomb of Li Sijing, the Zhizhi of Kunshan, who was also known by the Yuan Dynasty (in the southeast of the county, there is a stele) 3, Tomb of the Chief Secretary of the Ming Dynasty Zhu Tianbao (in the east of the city). Among them, Gao Zijing was once sealed as the Bohai (county) prince, and his tomb is in the east of Chengli, near the excavation of Shihu.

According to Li Fang, director of the Longyao County Cultural Relics Protection and Management Institute, Gao Zijing ’s tomb ranks second in the Yuan Dynasty Qiu tomb in Tangshan County Records. He and Li Weijian and Liu Bingzhong belonged to the same period. Based on this, it is speculated that Gao Zijing should die in the Yuan dynasty. The stone carving should be the stone carving of the Yuan Dynasty. There were very few Shinto stone carvings in the Yuan dynasty in the whole country, and the stone tigers of the Yuan dynasty unearthed in Longyao County are called national treasure-level cultural relics.

At present, the stone tiger has entered the provincial key cultural relics protection unit "Long Yao Monument Carved Group" for protection and display. (Finish)
