"We have crossed a milestone in violence," criticizes presenter Denis Brogniart at the microphone of Philippe Vandel, asking the internet giants to help the authorities identify the authors of these remarks.

"I hope your children will die", or "I will find you and kill your daughters". These extremely violent messages have been sent in recent days to Régis, a 40-year-old father and candidate for the Koh-Lanta program. Inès, a 25-year-old candidate, was threatened with death and rape, all because she had voted for the departure of another candidate. "It makes me crazy," denounces Denis Brogniart, the star host of the show, guest of Culture Media on Tuesday morning on Europe 1.  

"Disgust" and "dismay"

"On social networks, we have crossed a milestone in violence," he said. During the weekend, the host condemned via his Twitter account the series of "unspeakable insults" received by some candidates. On Monday, he posted a video on his Instagram account in which he expressed his "disgust", his "dismay", and his "anger".

"It takes three seconds to create an account"

Denis Brogniart is particularly exasperated by the anonymity of these threats, made from accounts that are difficult to trace. "Today, it takes three seconds to have an Instagram account, without giving your name, and being able to say insanity to anyone ...", he denounces at the microphone of Europe 1. The host launched an appeal to the bosses of Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, asking them to better secure the registrations, so that the police can find the perpetrators of threats and insults.

The public prosecutor of Paris seized

Pending their response, the production company of Koh Lanta, announced Monday that it would seize the public prosecutor of Paris. "These facts are punishable by three years' imprisonment and a fine of 45,000 euros. Koh-Lanta is a family program and it is intolerable that its competitors have to deal with such a spill of hate," she said. justified in a press release. Denis Brogniart fully supports this decision: "We have to find the worst of these people. If we make examples, it can silence the others."
