An ultra-secure post-coronavirus back to school in China - 20 Minutes

It was a bit special back to school. Thousands of Chinese reunited with their classmates on Monday to end the school year in their respective schools.

At the end of January, they had to continue their learning at home, due to the epidemic of coronavirus which has been raging since December 2019 in the country.

A reopening in a dropper

In Beijing, only senior high school students were allowed to return to prepare for the "gaokao", the university entrance exam. In Shanghai, the last year of middle school students were also able to resume class. In March, the less populated provinces of Qinghai and Guizhou were the first to gradually organize their return.

In China, the majority of primary schools and universities remain closed for the time being. The country fears a second wave of contaminations in part due to the return of Chinese, hitherto stranded abroad.
