For fear of being infected by going to a pharmacy, many French people wonder about the possibility of buying medicines online. This sale is however very framed, and temporarily restricted.

Can we buy drugs online and have them delivered to our door? This is the question that many French people ask, such as Liliane, an auditor from Europe 1, to avoid going to the pharmacy and risking contamination with the coronavirus. However, you have to be careful: in France, the sale of medicines on the internet is very tight. It is reserved for pharmacists holding a pharmacy and only concerns medicines without a prescription.

A limited sale until May 31

In addition, during this period of health crisis, the online sale of drugs based on paracetamol, ibuprofen and aspirin is temporarily suspended, at least until May 31. This restriction was imposed in order to ensure the proper use of these drugs and guarantee their availability in pharmacies.

Some pharmacies have, however, implemented devices for carrying medicines at home, in particular to help the elderly, frail or people with reduced mobility. To find out the details of this portage, you must contact your pharmacy.
