A few hours before the presentation and vote of the deconfinement plan this Tuesday by Edouard Philippe, 61% of young people between 18 and 30 years old approach this prospect with a negative feeling, according to the latest barometer “#MeYoung, confined and tomorrow? ", HEYME - 20 Minutes - OpinionWay *. In detail, 42% of young people say they are suspicious, 16% are worried and 3% are afraid.

"The return to deconfigured life is marked by uncertainty, frustration and fears", analyzes Luc Belleroy, general manager of OpinionWay. Three-quarters of young people fear that cops and bans will continue, 69% fear having to keep social distance with their loved ones or their colleagues, 59% not having a vacation this summer and 42% having to resume public transport . The latter figure rises to 62% in Ile-de-France.

58% of young people frustrated with deconfinement without cafes or restaurants

While we already know that not all shops and gathering places will reopen on May 11, 58% of young people cite life without restaurants and cafes as the most frustrating prospect of the immediate post-containment, 57% regret already not being able to travel where they want and when they want and 53% of not having physical contact with their loved ones.

Among the most debated measures in the deconfinement plan, is the implementation of the StopCovid application, a digital tracking tool for people infected with Covid-19. While the CNIL gave the green light under conditions this Sunday, 59% of 18-30 year olds agree to use such a geolocation application. Among them, only 10% fully agree, 32% want guarantees on the use of the data and 17% are resigned "if we cannot do otherwise". Conversely. 41% declare themselves hostile to being tracked by this application.

Containment, good memories for 44% of young people

Another factor that explains the reluctance of young people towards deconfinement is the exceptional nature of this parenthesis of almost eight weeks which will mark the life of 73% of them and 44% of whom will have fond memories. "A time when free access opened up access to many online services," notes Luc Balleroy. 72% of young people say they have benefited from at least one initiative proposed during confinement. 38% of TV and online content are at the top, followed by yoga, meditation or sports classes at 32%. "Let us note all the same that deconfinement will be a first liberation for those very numerous who lived through this period with difficulty, that is to say 29% of young people", concludes Luc Balleroy.
