Come, children of the fatherland, the day of the mask has arrived. The French can now obtain the coveted object in pharmacies. A decree was published Saturday in the Official Journal, now including masks in the list of goods that can be sold by pharmacists. More specifically, "non-sanitary masks manufactured according to an industrial process and meeting the applicable technical specifications", as reported by Le Parisien.

Millions of masks promised

This follows an insistent request from the profession, after the decree of March 3, 2020, prohibiting the sale of any mask in pharmacies. The available stocks had been requisitioned to be given as a priority to caregivers.

But with the deconfinement fast approaching, Olivier Véran, Minister of Health, indicated that millions of "general public" masks were going to be distributed. A distribution that would require all "the living forces of the nation," he said. Including pharmacists.
