China News Service, Guangzhou, April 25th (Cheng Jingwei, Linyin Banguangzhai) The Guangdong Forestry Bureau reported on the 25th that a large number of chestnut-throated beetles known as "one of the most beautiful birds in China" recently flew to Guangdong Province. Nesting and breeding near the Golden Lion Bay in Zhelin Town, Raoping County, Chaozhou City attracted many bird lovers to shoot with "long guns and short guns". According to monitoring, there were thousands of chestnut-throated bees flying to Raoping County this time.

  Chest-throated bee-eater is a bird listed in the "National List of Beneficial Wildlife Conservation Animals with Important Economic Value and Scientific Research Value", mainly living in Southeast Asia, with butterflies, dragonflies, moths and beetles. As a food source, it is named because its throat is maroon. The chestnut-throated bee-eater is brightly colored all over the body, with cool black eye patterns, chestnut-red throats, and blue tail wings. During flight, the feathers under the wings are orange-yellow. Under the sunlight, the whole body flashes like a metal The gorgeous luster is known as one of "the most beautiful birds in China".

  Over the past few days, thousands of chestnut-throated bee tigers have come to inhabit on the Xiaoqi hillside near Jinshi Bay, Zhelin Town, Raoping County, Chaozhou City. They sometimes hover in the air and sometimes rest on branches. After receiving this information, the Raoping County Forestry Bureau took measures such as setting up publicity warning signs and adding manual care to protect this migratory bird habitat. The bureau also plans to report to the Raoping County People's Government to designate this habitat area as a game reserve for protection.

  According to the staff of Zhelin Town Forestry Station in Raoping County, chestnut-throated bees usually fly to Raoping County for nesting and breeding from April to June every year, and they do n’t leave until July. Chest-throated bee tigers have very high demands on the nesting environment. Only a few dozen came to Raoping in the past years, but I did not expect to reach a few thousand this year.

  In recent years, Chaozhou City has vigorously created a national forest city, focusing on the five major actions of "cultural phoenix city, greening of water system, adding color to roads, ecological restoration, and beautiful villages", and is striving to promote forestry ecological construction. In order to promote the recovery and sustainable development of wild animal resources such as wild birds, Chaozhou City issued an announcement early last year, from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2023, the city banned wild birds.
