Sakura of Akita Kakunodate "Don't come to see" The city calls out at 7:11 on April 26

In Kakunodate-machi, Senboku City, a famous spot for cherry blossoms in Akita Prefecture, city officials are calling for people not to visit Sakura to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.

Kakunodate-machi, Semboku City is one of the most famous cherry blossom spots in Akita prefecture, known for the rows of cherry trees along the Hinokinai River and the weeping cherry trees of samurai residences. It has been decided to stop to prevent the spread of virus infection.

However, last weekend, many cherry blossom visitors, mainly in Akita Prefecture, visited Senboku City, which closed two nearby municipal parking lots. Please stand in the town with a sign saying, "Please refrain from sightseeing."

The sidewalks of cherry trees along the river are also closed.

There were some souvenir shops and restaurants nearby that were closed, and there were almost no pedestrians.

The Semboku City Tourism Division says, "We apologize to tourists who have been looking forward to cherry blossoms, but we want people to refrain from seeing cherry blossoms in order to prevent the spread of infection."
