  China News Agency, Macau, April 25 (Reporter Long Tuyou) The Macao Education and Youth Affairs Bureau announced on the 25th that in order to strengthen the anti-epidemic work of the resumption of classes, the authorities implemented the "Nuclear Acid Testing Program for Teachers and Staff of Non-Higher Education Schools and Cross-border Students". Employees and cross-border students need to pass the nucleic acid test before they can return to school.

  The Macao New Coronavirus Response Coordination Center held a press conference that day to announce the latest epidemic situation in Macao and various prevention and control measures.

  Luo Yilong, medical director of Earl of Jen General Hospital, introduced at the meeting that Macau has had no new cases of new coronary pneumonia for 17 consecutive days. The cumulative number of confirmed cases has remained at 45, with no community transmission and no deaths.

  Luo Yilong said that another patient was cured and discharged from Macau that day. A total of 28 patients were discharged from the hospital. 17 people are still hospitalized and all are mild. All close contacts have been released from isolation. The 52-year-old male resident who was discharged from the hospital is the 44th confirmed person in Macao. He recovered after 21 days in hospital and will continue to be arranged to the Public Health Clinical Center of the Health Bureau for 14 days of isolation and observation.

  The secondary schools in Macau will resume classes one after another on May 4. Gong Zhiming, deputy director of the Education and Youth Bureau, said that all teaching staff and cross-border students need to go back to school after nucleic acid testing. About 5,000 faculty members will be arranged for testing from April 27 to 30, free of charge. As for the nucleic acid testing arrangements for cross-border faculty members and students, they have been coordinated with designated hospitals in Zhuhai City and will be conducted in batches before the start of classes. Cross-border faculty and students need to present a residence permit and nucleic acid test report before travelling to and from Zhu'ao.

  At the same time, the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau also issued "resuming guidelines" to schools, requiring the campus to be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before resuming classes and conducting recurring exercises. At present, 10 schools have completed recurring exercises. (Finish)
