A much awaited speech. Edouard Philippe will present Tuesday at 3 p.m. before the National Assembly "the national strategy of the deconfinement plan" which is due to start on May 11, Matignon announced on Saturday. This presentation will be followed by a debate and a vote in accordance with article 50-1 of the Constitution, according to a letter from the Prime Minister addressed to the President of the Assembly Richard Ferrand.

Edouard Philippe will group his declaration with that already planned for the same day on the question of tracing and the “Stop Covid” application. Since April 13, the date on which Emmanuel Macron set the start of the deconfinement on May 11, the government has been working on its exit plan, under the leadership of senior civil servant and mayor Jean Castex.

Towards a progressive deconfinement

Seventeen priority projects have been identified, including the return to school, the return to work in companies, the proper functioning of public transport, the supply of masks and gel, the testing policy or support for the elderly.

Monday, a dozen ministers around the Minister of Territorial Cohesion Jacqueline Gourault will consult representatives of local authorities, to discuss certain hypotheses.

The first tracks have already been put forward by the executive, including a return to class spread over three weeks, on a voluntary basis. Deconfinement should also be “territorialized”, depending on the impact of the epidemic.
