Ali Gomaa, former Egyptian Grand Mufti, raised the controversy with statements about building the pyramids, in which it was suggested that it was the Prophet Idris who started the construction and that the famous Sphinx is the embodiment of it.
A member of the Committee of Scholars for Scholars in Al-Azhar and the former Mufti of Egypt, said in televised statements to the "Egypt, the Land of the Prophets" program on the official Egyptian television: "There are many sayings that scholars favor, that it was the Prophet of God Idris who started building the pyramids and the science of mummification, and that the face of the statue of Abu The horror in Egypt is his face. "
This was not the first time that this theory was proposed to him. He said in 2015 that the Prophet Idris was called "Enoch" in the Torah, and he was the Hermes of Hermes, that is, the wise men, as he is the first to write a pen and sew clothes, and it is an example of wisdom, mathematical and astronomical sciences, He is the "Sphinx" as stated in a book by one of the historians.
On the new statements, Jumaa said that his approach regarding the name of the Prophet Idris came from a thorough study, adding, "There are hearsay indicating that Idris is the same Osiris whom the Pharaonic papyri are talking about."
He added: "The Pharaohs used to depict their sanctities as a bird, an animal, or any other object, but the Sphinx depicted it in the form of a human being, which corresponds to the word of the first teacher and the wise sages, and that this great Prophet taught mankind things before civilization."
