Coldplay singer Chris Martin - Fotoarena / Panoramic / Starface

BBC Radio 1 has announced the launch of a charitable single to fight the coronavirus crisis. It will be a cover of Times Like This , Foo Fighters, in which Chris Martin, Dua Lipa, Rita Ora, Biffy Clyro, and many others will participate.

According to producer Fraser T Smith, the artists will play with "telephones, pots, pans, or acoustic guitars", for a production totally "made in confinement", as the Guardian relays . All profits from British downloads and streams will go to several charities, such as Children in Need, or Comic Relief, while international profits will go to the WHO solidarity fund.

BBC Radio 1 music chief Chris Price says "it's about sending a simple message to the world: the power of music and human creativity can help overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles to build a feeling of community, closeness and determination, even when we have to be separated. ”
