The life course of Alessio Fantini changed just four days ago, when he witnessed his first death as a result of "Covid-19" disease, caused by the infection of the new Corona virus.

Thirty-year-old Fantini works as a nurse to care for patients believed to be near death at a private clinic in the Italian capital, Rome.

He published his experience on the social networking site «Facebook», and the publication was widely circulated.

"By working in patient care, I used to hear about the death, as well as dealing with grief among patients and relatives, but the matter was different this time," the nurse told the German News Agency (dpa).

He added that "sterilization of the patient (after his death) and placing him inside a body bag waiting for who will prepare the body for burial, without being deposited by any of his relatives, is influential."

Italy is facing the largest outbreak of the Corona virus in Europe, and the likes of Fantini are on the frontline, which poses a great danger to them.

Across Europe, and of course, in Italy, people often clap their balconies to express their appreciation for the medical staff, but Fantini described it as "a bit strange."

He added: "People want to express their appreciation and thanks, but I certainly do not feel that I am a hero ... I do my duty, and with passion."

In Italy, at least 125 doctors and more than 30 nursing staff died from Covid-19, usually due to insufficient protective clothing and equipment for their diets, and about 17,000 service workers were injured. Health.

As for Fantini, who has been working as a nurse for six years and earns about 1,500 euros ($ 1620) per month, he is fortunate, as the place where he works does not suffer from any shortage of protective equipment or clothing.
