After three weeks of self-isolation, we can say for sure that the country is in a very unusual situation. Tens of thousands of people have nowhere to go to work, but you can’t go to work, so we will understand all the consequences of what is happening only when self-isolation finally ends.
While our routes are minimized, some of us prefer not to think about the future, some work remotely, if possible, or make plans. But there is another part of people who are obliged to work at all costs.
It doesn’t matter at all what it is: a selector, situational work from home or work as usual - tens of thousands of officials help the state machine move forward.
Far behind were the fat two thousandths. Vladimir Putin and his entire team were faced with an unprecedented crisis, which, of course, will highlight all the shortcomings of the built state system and divide the decisions taken into effective and useless.
In Russia, the situation is aggravated by the fact that any decision “brought down from above” runs into resistance, sometimes outright sabotage, and also a lack of understanding of the essence of the proposed mechanisms.
A vivid example is an instruction to banks on providing interest-free loans to cover the cost of labor of employees who are in quarantine. You, of course, remember the numerous statements that the decision of Vladimir Putin to self-isolate the able-bodied population while maintaining wages is, of course, good, but where to get the money?
In two weeks, it became clear that the banks were in a pose - for example, they did not give loans to me or the Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov. Meanwhile, at yesterday’s selector, Vladimir Putin expanded support measures, including giving banks the opportunity to not worry so much about future losses. State guarantees, interest rate subsidies - these are the measures that were announced in order to finally launch a mechanism for lending to the business community.
In addition, Vladimir Putin repeatedly reiterated that all support measures and mechanisms should be as simple as possible, as accessible as possible and, of course, remotely accessible.
In fact, when the crisis is over or at least becomes not so acute, it will be possible to slowly deal with fraudsters and those who want to make money on this hard time for all of us.
In the meantime, the president shows an enviable composure, great flexibility in decision-making and the ability to adapt to the changing conditions of the era of the coronavirus. Of course, I would like the ministers of the government, regional officials, and entrepreneurs, who are largely dependent on each other, to demonstrate the same qualities. Bankers lend to landlords, landlords put pressure on smaller entrepreneurs, some of them have already fired employees and left them without means of livelihood, and ordinary people spend their money on goods and services of all entrepreneurs listed above.
If all the subjects of economic activity of our country, that is, all of us, add in good faith and will think not only about our interest, but also about the interest of our employees, partners and, finally, neighbors (which, in fact, is what the president does), the consequences of this crises will be much milder than they can be.
