Since his Lot-et-Garonnaise campaign, the 66-year-old singer, usually very discreet, has decided to film himself daily to sing one song per day of confinement. Videos shared on Facebook to support his confined fans and thank the healthcare staff, on the front line facing the coronavirus.

INTERVIEW

He is a discreet artist that we did not expect to see arriving on social networks. From his small village of Astaffort (Lot-et-Garonne), Francis Cabrel decided to post a song, alone with his guitar, to keep in touch with his fans, but also to support the nursing staff in the face of the coronavirus. "I let the light in, to show you the window I lean on each night to applaud and warmly thank our caregivers," he says. The videos, taken by its webcam, are directly relayed via the Facebook of the Baboo Music label.

If Francis Cabrel was so far not visible on social networks, he says he was embarked on the adventure, especially through his daughters.

"I learned that I was finishing May 11"

"I'm taking my trouble patiently. At the beginning I was not driving it wide, it looked like an eternity", he confides to the microphone of Europe 1. From now on, the singer says to have organized himself . "The days are punctuated by a lot of things, with this story of songs that takes me time," explains Francis Cabrel. "I learned that I was ending on May 11," he smiles, referring to the end of confinement date announced by President Emmanuel Macron on Monday.

For this long-awaited day, the singer has planned to sing La dame de Haute-Savoie, one of his greatest successes. "I join my stage program where it really is my reminder, the last of all," he explains, justifying his choice for this title released in 1980.
