Closed since the start of confinement in an attempt to limit the spread of the coronavirus, the Cinémathèque has found a way to re-establish links with its public. The institution launched its large free streaming platform called Henri, in tribute to its founder Henri Langlois.

The virtual room offers each evening at 8:30 pm "a film among those that the Cinémathèque has restored over the past twenty years", specifies the director general of the institution Frédéric Bonnaud, according to BFMTV. The Cinémathèque thus tries to pursue its mission of transmission and discovery.

On Sunday, the institution broadcast A small monastery in Tuscany , by Otar Iosseliani, after having shown on Thursday the adaptation of the short story by Edgar Allan Poe by Jean Epstein, The Fall of the Usher house , a 1928 film.
