Insufficient beds at medical institutions For mildly ill patients, stay at the hotel as accommodation facility April 13, Saitama 18:40

In Saitama Prefecture, 415 infected people have been announced by the 12th, but as of the night of the 12th, 183 people have been waiting for their homes because they could not keep up with the beds at medical institutions. For this reason, the prefecture plans to make hotels in Saitama a temporary accommodation facility for patients with mild illness.

The prefecture said that those who were confirmed to be infected would accept 150 general beds in the prefecture, but because they had not yet prepared protective clothing and training, less than half of the planned number had been accepted so far. That is, staying on 71 floors.

For this reason, the prefecture will rent "APA Hotel Saitama Shintoshin Ekikita" with about 220 rooms in Omiya Ward, Saitama City, and transfer patients after 15 days.

In particular, priority is given to mildly ill patients who live with elderly people, who are more likely to be ill.

The prefectural health ministry said, “The number of people waiting for hospitalization has increased, so we have secured a hotel. We will continue to work to secure the number of beds.”
