Information is fine, but TF1 has decided to rebalance its prime time access schedule with an entertainment program. From this Monday and all week long at 6.45 p.m., Le grand bêtisier à la maison will be hosted by Christophe Beaugrand and Karube Ferri, exercise specialists, who recorded the program from home, as did their guests.

Christophe Beaugrand explains to 20 Minutes how this comedy show can prove useful to confined viewers.

You animate, with Karine Ferri, The great blooper at home . What is it about ?

Some tape recorders with videos showing the amazing creativity of internet users, classic blooper sequences and discussions with guests confined to their homes. We found a little pan sequences and we will comment on them with them. I think I'm going to be entitled too, Karine is very attached to it…

Was this emission decided to react to the probable extension of the confinement?

We support the public in this difficult time for everyone. There is, and we see it with the audiences of the news and the news channels, a pressing need of the public to be informed. But viewers also tell us that they miss their series, like Tomorrow belongs to us , and their entertainment shows.

It has been observed that people have shared a lot of memes and humorous videos on social networks, particularly with the family, since the start of confinement. Will the show be with that in mind?

Social networks are not always the best vehicle for caring… But it is true that new technologies help keep in touch. We communicate a lot to compensate for the fact that we can no longer take our loved ones in their arms. It is reassuring to see that our elders master these tools better than one might think. Grandpa is not necessarily cheesy!

How was the show designed?

It was decided very quickly and we assembled everything in three days. The producer of my blooper show on TFX called me and told me that he had recovered a hard drive at the office with sequences. He said to me, "We have to relaunch something. We checked what was possible with Karine, who is in her campaign on the Rennes side. And we started. It is frustrating for us to know that the public is present and demanding programs to be entertained and to be able to do nothing. We no longer have the means of production to make large emissions, so we have to do with the means at hand.

So you have registered from home. What about the guests?

It's the same for them. We chose friends of the TF1 house for this exercise, we are going to have Jean-Luc Reichmann, Laurent Ourlac…

Do you like this exercise? Or do you prefer the usual TV studios?

We gain in naturalness I think. The tone is different. But we are not live. Friday, I had to redo a launch because my 5 month old baby had cried at that time, it was bottle time… The shows shot like that may be more like real life. There may be a virtue in what happens to us, which is to note that in the face of these events we are all on an equal footing.

Have you reconstructed a TV set at home?

I know that some prefer white walls, I made the choice to show part of my home, I find it warmer. I moved into my office. Karine Ferri is also at home in Brittany, where she has lived for several years. Our guests are also at home. It used to be said that with TV, the hosts were invited to the viewers' lounge. There, it's a bit the opposite!

The daily hearings from Seven to Eight were disappointing before his arrest. Is your program intended to serve as a launching pad for the following news programs?

I do not know. It is a program that has the ability to bring the whole family together. These programs are rare. Nothing is more communicative than a giggle. TV has once again become something important for social ties. It was said that this medium was dead, but there, we can see that TV can help people, especially the most isolated. I believe that TV, and its faces, can also reassure people.
