Recently, the Office of the United Nations Secretary-General ’s Youth Envoy recommended the story of 10 young people participating in the fight against the epidemic on the United Nations website—China ’s “raincoat sister” Liu Xian was among them.

After the outbreak of New Coronary Pneumonia, the situation in Wuhan was critical. The front-line medical staff often failed to eat a good meal. Under such circumstances, "Sister Raincoat" self-raised ingredients and led the team from Chengdu to Wuhan. In more than 40 days, I delivered more than 20,000 lunches to various local hospitals in Wuhan, and silently supported front-line medical staff in this way.

"You are responsible for saving people, we are responsible for cooking!" Without protective clothing, she put on a raincoat and began to shuttle between various hospitals in Wuhan. Gradually, the medical staff in Wuhan are familiar with the Chuan sister, everyone affectionately called her "sister raincoat."

On January 22, 2020, Liu Xian, who had been busy for a year, was ready to happily greet the upcoming Chinese New Year with the staff. I go to work on the seventh day, and thank you for your companionship. "

However, not long after the news came out, the epidemic struck. The high-intensity work of medical staff often makes them unable to eat a hot meal, which makes Liu Xian's heart tight. On January 30, she sent a message in her circle of friends to "gamble to support Wuhan, and urgently ask for help." She also recruited volunteers in the group and rushed to Wuhan to cook for medical staff.

At that time, the epidemic was serious, and no one knew what consequences would be faced when going to Wuhan, where the epidemic was most severe. "This expedition may not come back for a while, or it may never come back. Brothers and sisters, the country has its own responsibility, Wuhan needs us!"

Before the trip, the words "Chuan A Retrograde to Wuhan" were particularly striking. Photo courtesy of interviewees

What Liu Xian did not expect was that this time the call for recruitment quickly received a positive response from the friends. Just do it! More than 200 pounds of pork, more than 300 pounds of rice, and two large bags of potatoes stuffed the trunk; all the tools and ingredients that can be taken in the Chengdu store are brought; if you can't buy protective clothing, bring only the 19 sets of raincoats With 20 masks, they set off.

For more than ten hours, from Chengdu to Wuhan, Liu Xian and his friends dared not delay. At 3 am on February 3, they finally arrived in Wuhan. After three or four hours of rest, the kitchen of the Wuhan branch was disinfected.

There is a shortage of sterilizing water, so you can't put it into a large basin for water-spray sterilization. You just vacate the cosmetic bottle and save it a little. After about 6 hours of killing work, a large cauldron gradually raised the heat of the meals in the clean back kitchen.

"From the departure to the delivery of the food to the medical staff, we spent a total of less than 40 hours!" At this time, Liu Xian only found that he was in a hurry, not even changing the clothes.

Put on a raincoat to deliver meals: the raincoat is sticky and the ingredients are not enough to "grab"

Without clothes, wearing the "hundred clothes" sent by local citizens still works; without protective clothing, Liu Xian wears her own raincoat, puts on ski goggles and gloves, and starts the "food delivery journey" of the day.

"We prepared two flavors of lunch, spicy and not spicy. Pay attention when choosing." On the first day of delivery, Liu Xian thought that not everyone likes Sichuan cuisine, so he prepared two flavors of lunch. , Who knew the medical staff told her: "We don't pick, what to eat! Thank you!"

The words of the medical staff moved them deeply. Many medical staff also sent them some protective clothing. Liu Xian refused, "There is such a shortage of supplies. The working environment of medical staff is more dangerous than ours. They need it more. My raincoat is broken. I can stick the tape and use it as usual."

In this way, Liu Xian wore a raincoat every day, washed vegetables, cut vegetables, fried vegetables, and packed the dishes. I tried to ensure that the food was delivered to the hospital at 11:30; after the meal, I hurried back to the store to prepare for the next round. Meals.

"Sister Raincoat!" I don't know who shouted that way, the name became synonymous with Liu Xian. Medical staff in Wuhan knows that this Sichuan girl wearing a raincoat will always show up at the meal, and give them a hot meal for fatigue.

Soon, Liu Xian's own ingredients were used up, especially the large demand for meat food made "Sister Raincoat" difficult. "Medical staff work hard, I try to ensure that they eat meat every meal, how to work without meat? How to cure the disease and save people?"

In the lunch box prepared by "Sister Raincoat", the standard of two meat and one vegetarian is never reduced. On average, a box of lunch is paired with about half a catty of meat. 500 servings of lunch a day will consume about one pig's meat.

"What if I can't buy meat?"

The "bandits", "overbearing presidents" and "sisters in raincoats" were on the line immediately.

As more of her story became known, the media that wanted to interview gradually came to the door.

"Interview? Yes! Change the meat!

In this way, 1,000 pounds, 500 pounds ... "Sister Raincoat" "robbed" the meat dishes packed in the lunch box of medical staff in their own way.

Sichuan-style sausages, thick-cut pork belly, potato roast meat, and Liu Xian's meal "Big Meat" for medical staff are blessed.

Not only that, the love from all over the country, like a trickle, gathered in the shop of "Sister Raincoat". This place where meals are prepared and delivered on weekdays has become a national love relay station.

Where you need supplies, tell "Sister Raincoat" and send the car immediately; if there is any difficulty and need help, a roar in the group will prompt someone to come up with an idea.

"Sister Raincoat" is home! She said "Wuhan doesn't need us anymore"

"Wuhan doesn't need me anymore, let's go!" On March 20, Wuhan's situation improved, and "Sister Raincoat" and the team silently bid farewell to the city that struggled for more than 40 days.

"We dared not tell anyone before we left, fearing they would give it away." Before leaving, "Sister Raincoat" delivered the rest of the restaurant to the elderly lonely widow nearby, and then cleaned up the store and recorded the parting video Prepare to say goodbye to friends in Wuhan in this way.

Unexpectedly, when I went out, "Sister Raincoat" was still recognized by the traffic police. Perhaps they knew they were leaving, and the traffic police salute them silently. Whenever I think of this time, "Sister Raincoat" couldn't help crying.

When asked if there were any regrets left in Wuhan, "Sister Raincoat" thought about it and replied, "We had passed a beautiful lake on the way to the meal because we were busy and we never went to see it. After the epidemic, I hope I can walk to the lake and take a good look at this city I have fought for. "

After returning to Chengdu, "Sister Raincoat" sorted out, disinfected, and stored the "equipment" in Wuhan, and then stored it in the store. Bone-filled choppers, raincoats with holes, hats worn for more than 40 days, homemade shoe crochet ... items full of memories, reminding her not to forget the hardest days.

In the store in Chengdu, many fans came and wrote notes for her to cheer and cheer:

"An ancient Chuan army came out of China for China, and now a Chuanmei came out of China for China."

"There are no heroes who fall from the sky, only ordinary people like you standing up."

"The people of Chengdu look forward to your return. You are the ones who have taken our lives for our safety. Chengdu is waiting for you!"

"Now," Raincoat Sister "is no longer a person, but a group of people." Liu Xian told reporters that he launched the "Raincoat Charity", and there are currently tens of thousands of caring people from all over the country joining it. "On the day of the Xichang fire," Raincoat Charity "followed the" Wuhan Experience "and sent water and bread to the frontline headquarters in less than three hours."
