[Explanation] In the busy city of Jifu Community in Wuhou District, Chengdu, there is a Thangka studio that is popular among the surrounding residents. Rameng, who was born in the Tibetan area and painted Thangka for most of his life, never thought of this when he founded this studio. He stayed in the "land of heaven" for 20 years.

Lameng, 50, is from Seda County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. At the age of 7, he followed his father to learn Thangka. Thangka is a unique painting art in Chinese Tibetan culture. At present, there are only two national-level intangible cultural heritage inheritors of the Karma Ghazi School in China, and Lameng is one of them.

When the reporter saw La Meng, he was holding a mobile phone in his left hand and a pen sketch in his right hand in front of a drawing board, while conducting video guidance with students practicing at home. Rameng told reporters that because of the impact of the epidemic, students will encounter many problems when practicing at home. In addition to timely "correcting homework" in WeChat group, Rameng will use video calls to explain in detail. Rameng said that he had a difficult time studying Thangka, and now his living conditions are so good, he wants to devote all his energy to the students.

[Same period] (Tangka National Intangible Cultural Inheritance Rameng) Before (study), he also encountered difficulties, anyway, he did not want to find a good teacher. There are many reasons for it in my heart (I think) I will definitely take the students to educate me later. (Student) You can come and learn by yourself. There are no such high barriers. There are also a batch of two (students). A lot of them come to me. (During the epidemic) After I finished the painting, I sent it to the WeChat group, and then the students stayed in the house to paint themselves, and then sent it to me after the painting. We will communicate if we have any questions.

[Explanation] Over the years, La Meng's reputation in Chengdu has grown, and the students who come to learn painting are endless. Rameng enrolls 40 to 50 people per period. Not only does it include food and accommodation, no tuition fees, but also gives students some pocket money every week. The cost is all based on his income from selling paintings. At present, more than 1,400 students have been taught. Most of the students come from Tibetan areas and they go home, and many people have become non-genetic inheritors in their hometowns. Tima, who has been studying Thangka for 7 years, said that not only is Thangka skilled, but also regards Thangka as his own child in life.

[Same period] (La Meng student 尜 玛) Teacher La Meng is the second father in my mind. It should be considered that we are sick, including food and accommodation. These are provided by Mr. La Meng for free. Teacher La Meng taught us to paint, and asked some teachers to teach us cultural lessons. After I finished my studies, I wanted to go back to my hometown and open a studio. There are many people who like Thangka over there, but very few can paint. I want to teach some students over there and pass it on like La Meng.

【Explanation】 In Lameng's view, in addition to relying on talents, Thangka's inheritance also needs to be creatively compatible and inclusive, not limited to ethnic and religious content. During the New Coronary Pneumonia epidemic, Rameng created a Thangka, the theme of anti-epidemic, which was presented in Tiananmen Square, medical staff and even academician Zhong Nanshan.

[Same period] (Thangka National Intangible Cultural Inheritance Rameng) I think there can be many cultures painted on Thangka, such as various buildings in life, various nationalities (cultures), different local characteristics of different cultures, You can dig into Thangka paintings. I have a little workmanship myself. I paint (fight) some characteristics (pictures) of the new coronary pneumonia work. The medical staff painted a lot of them.

[Explanation] There are more than 2,300 ethnic minorities who are resident or mobile in the Jifu community where Rameng lives. There are 11 ethnic groups including Tibetan, Qiang, Hui and Uyghur. After Rameng took root here, the streets and the community established the "National Culture House" in 2013 to provide free teaching venues for Rameng.

[In the same period] (Li Hanrong, the first secretary of the Party Committee of Jifu Community in Wuhou District, Chengdu) Other compatriots in the community, especially the Han nationality, including some ethnic minority compatriots from other districts and counties On the one hand, learn the Thangka culture to spread the Thangka culture. On the other hand, through this mutual learning and exchange process, (community residents) have more understanding of the ethnic minority compatriots, and through such an exchange, they have achieved various Communication and blending among fellow nationalities.
