Since the outbreak of the epidemic, Beijing ’s key processing companies have increased production and market volume; reporters from the Beijing News visited some grain depots and grain processing plants

The storage capacity of finished grain in the grain depot doubled

Beijing News (Reporter Chen Lin) Recently, the epidemic has caused everyone to worry about "food security". Will there be a food shortage in Beijing? If the reserve grain is used, will it be the old grain for a long time? With the concerns of the public, reporters from the Beijing News walked into grain stores and flour processing factories in grain companies and visited grain storage and distribution links.

Storage: Online monitoring of rice temperature and humidity

On April 8th, the reporter came to Beijing Grain Group Guchuan Rice Industry Niulanshan Grain Depot. The factory area is a row of bungalows and a cylindrical vertical silo. Walking into one of the finished product warehouses, the rich flavor of the rice rushed over, and the warehouse was full of neatly laid rice. The staff operated the electric forklift to shuttle between them, transporting the rice just unloaded from the truck.

According to reports, this warehouse is 1700 square meters, mainly placed finished grain. The reporter saw that two black cables hung from each pile of rice. Hu Daiying, deputy general manager of Guchuan Rice Industry, introduced that the staff can monitor the temperature and humidity of rice by connecting to the instrument and understand the storage status of rice in real time.

The reporter noticed that there were 10 three-dimensional cabinet air conditioners hanging on the wall above the rice bag, which was used to adjust the temperature and humidity of the warehouse. "The temperature is kept below 21 ° C and the humidity is kept below 60%, so that there is no temperature and humidity environment in which insects grow, and rice is not prone to insects and mildew, and physical green safe grain storage is fully achieved." In addition, each There is a small ventilated window above the grain storage; the corresponding vent below is connected to the blower. When the temperature is below zero degrees Celsius in winter, the blower is turned on and the natural cold wind is drawn into the room to cool down.

In addition to finished grain, raw grain is also stored here. To enter a bungalow for storing rice, climb from the stairs hanging on the outside of the wall to the top of the warehouse, and enter the granary through a small door on the wall. As far as the reporter can see, all the grains are flat. "This 1,600 square meter warehouse contains a total of 5,842 tons of rice." Shan Linjie, the warehouse clerk, introduced. The raw grain storage realizes intelligent detection. The temperature and humidity of grain can be monitored online through a computer. When the storage conditions exceed the standard, an alarm will be automatically generated.

Transportation: 18 hours from the base to Beijing Grain Depot

In Guchuan Rice Industry Niulanshan Grain Depot, there are 26 bungalows ranging from 1000 to 1800 square meters, and a total of 56 vertical silos that can store 500 tons of grain. According to Hu Daiying, according to the requirements of the city, the finished grain in the grain depot "stores one and prepares one". During the epidemic, the storage here doubled. Since the second day of the new year, the company gradually resumed production. As of April 8, it has accumulated a total of 11,166 tons of unloaded finished rice.

The reporter learned that the ancient ship rice processing plant is located on the outskirts of Yushu City, 150 kilometers north of Changchun City, Jilin Province, and more than 800 kilometers away from Beijing. Under normal circumstances, the processing of rice noodles is the off-season during the Spring Festival. At this time, the Yushu base has no production tasks. Before the Spring Festival, there were signs of the epidemic. In order to prevent it from happening, the construction of the third elm tree base in the New Year's Day was urgently started.

Chen Jianfeng, deputy general manager of Guchuan Rice Industry, introduced that at the Gushu Rice Industry Yushu Base, in addition to production and processing lines, there are 3 grain depots, which have a total reserve of 400,000 tons of grain. "It takes about 18 hours for these grains to reach Beijing's grain depot from the base of Yushu." In case of emergency, they will be delivered immediately, and they can be delivered to various supermarkets and farmers' markets in Beijing within 24 hours to meet the needs of the citizens.

Production: 50% of rice noodles can be processed in the city

On January 27, Guchuan Food started production at two flour factories in Beijing. According to Leng Zhentao, deputy general manager of Guchuan Food Co., Ltd., Daxing's processing plant processes 1,200 tons of wheat a day, and the processing plant in Tongzhou Luhe processes 800 tons of wheat a day. The two plants can produce about 1,500 tons of flour per day.

On the fourth day of the first month, the flour mill began to supply to the supermarket. Affected by the epidemic, the demand for small package flour suitable for household consumption has grown rapidly. The company adjusted its product structure and increased the production of small package products by another 100 tons per day. According to statistics, as of April 8, Guchuan Food had supplied 41,509 tons of flour to the market, of which the supply of small packages was 21,378 tons, an increase of 142% compared with the same period last year.

Leng Zhentao said that there have been three small upsurges in flour demand this year. Judging from the order volume of major supermarkets, the first wave occurred on the second day of the first month, and the second wave occurred during the peak period of returning to Beijing. Flour sales were stable at the beginning of March. At the end of the month, affected by the international food situation, the order volume more than doubled. All the employees of Qingming Small Holiday Company took a rest, worked overtime to produce flour, and packed it for 24 hours. "At present, our available inventory is doubled from normal, and there is no problem to protect the market."

The reporter learned from the Beijing Municipal Food and Material Reserve Bureau that since the outbreak, the backbone processing enterprises in Beijing have resumed production and production in a timely manner, increasing output and market volume. 50% of the rice noodles can be produced by processing enterprises in the city. There are many processing enterprises in the surrounding areas of Beijing, which can realize the rapid conversion from raw grain to finished grain. In addition to normal trade channels, the government puts in raw grain reserves through targeted sales and open auctions to ensure the supply of raw materials for processing enterprises.

Question 1

Will food prices soar?

Recently, there has been a small rise in grain purchase prices. Chen Jianfeng said that this was due to short-term fluctuations caused by panic, and the increase in demand for rice in the north from the southern region caused the supply and demand to rise. However, this demand is limited, and there is no incentive for a large price increase in the later period.

"There are two main reasons for the increase in food prices: one is that there is less food, and the other is that there are more people eating food. Now these two main factors have not appeared, so the recent price fluctuations are only temporary increases. In addition, the country There are also reserves at all levels, and when prices are tight, prices will be put on hold in a timely manner. "

The Ministry of Commerce previously released data that China's total grain output in 2019 was 664 million tons, an increase of 0.9% from 2018, the highest level in history, and achieved "16 consecutive abundance". According to the analysis of relevant information of the Ministry of Agriculture, the grain production situation is generally good in 2020. During the epidemic, the country continued to introduce policies and measures to support agricultural production. This year's grain harvest is a high probability event.

Follow up 2

The government reserves grain for a long time?

Many people worry that the grain reserves will be the old grains that have been left for a long time? The reporter saw in the Gulan Rice Industry Niulanshan Grain Depot that the municipal-level reserve grains are available in large packages of 25 kilograms and small packages of under 25 kilograms. The storage time is around February 2020. Hu Daiying, deputy general manager of Guchuan Rice Industry, said that the stored grains must go through various tests to control the quality from the source before entering the warehouse; they must also be monitored during storage.

Regardless of whether the rice noodles are rotated 10 times a year, the small-package products of the finished grain below 25 kg are basically rotated once every 36 days; the large packages of 25 kg or more are not less than 6 times a year, that is, once every two months. Generally speaking, the shelf life of rice noodles is usually 9-12 months, and the public need not worry about the food being fresh.

The rotation time of raw grain is also stipulated. The rice is rotated within three years, calculated in natural years, and the actual storage period is two years. According to storage standards, during storage, various techniques will be used to ensure that the quality of grain is within a safe range. The custodian will also inspect the granary every day and conduct regular spot checks.

Question 3

Is it necessary for citizens to hoard food?

The reporter visited the warehouse where the rice was stored and could feel that the warehouse was cold and dry. Xie Wenjun, chief engineer of Guchuan Rice Industry, said that the best storage environment for rice should be below 21 ° C and the humidity should be controlled below 60%. Storage requires a relatively low temperature and dry environment. "

After "May Day", the temperature and humidity in Beijing will rise sharply simultaneously, which will accelerate the deterioration of rice and the loss of nutrients. When the ambient temperature reaches 26 ° C and the humidity reaches 70%, it only takes a week for the rice to grow insects. In contrast, rice purchased in supermarkets is now vacuum-packed, which can be stored for a little longer, and flour is less vacuum-packed, which is not conducive to storage.

Xie Wenjun said that from the perspective of food taste, the longer it is stored, the worse the taste, and the nutritional value will definitely be affected. "It's better to eat new food."
