These are "specific" symptoms of the coronavirus. Some patients with Covid-19 suddenly lost their sense of smell and taste. If these effects subside "within five to ten days spontaneously", it may be much longer. The medical profession is also looking into the question of the recovery of these two senses. Smelling spices

The first thing to do is to have a jar of spices on hand, such as vanilla or cumin. Then you have to "wash your nose with saline".
