A recent study, conducted on the analysis of nine drugs currently undergoing clinical trials, revealed that a possible treatment for coronavirus may not later cost more than one dollar.

The study, published Friday in the scientific journal "Virus Eradication", found that if the effectiveness of Corona virus treatments that are currently subject to clinical trials is confirmed, the cost of treatment will range from one dollar to nine dollars for a single treatment session, according to the agency "Bloomberg" America.

Results of randomized trials of several new potential treatments are expected to emerge in the next three months.

For his part, Andrew Hill, a visiting researcher at the University of Liverpool's pharmacy department, said, "If the drugs show promise, there is a possibility to dramatically increase production and provide low-cost public supplies around the world."

"We urgently need access to effective anti-virus treatments worldwide to curb the epidemic in the next 18 months," added Hill, who co-authored the study.

He continued, “We already know how to produce and distribute low-cost drugs widely to treat HIV, tuberculosis and malaria. It is time to repeat the success stories with the SK virus, but this time more quickly. ”

Hill and his colleagues participating in the study indicated that manufacturing costs were estimated according to nine drugs considered to be key candidates for the treatment of "Covid 19" based on recent reviews and analyzes of ongoing clinical trials.

The latest statistics on the spread of the virus show that more than 376,000 people have recovered, and a total of 691 million cases have been infected worldwide, according to Johns Hopkins University.
