What if all of France drew?

How to distract by confinement time? Artists compete for proposals, whether musical or literary. They can also be plastic. As part of the 2020 year of the comic strip, an operation entitled "#All France draws" offers Internet users to continue a short story initiated by a recognized author.

It is Florence Cestac, godmother of the year of comics, who opens the ball. The designer, one of the rare women winners of the Grand Prix of the city of Angoulême, accepted this proposal from the International City of Comics and Images (CIBDI): " The goal was to make draw people, give the beginning of the story and the internet users fill in the two blank boxes that follow ".

Last Monday, Florence Cestac therefore posted her two boxes online. We find his round graphic style, a mother with a big nose asks her son to beat the recall before lunch. “ With confinement, it's good to find a situation that everyone knows. Indeed, I thought of the meal. I think there are as many stories as there are lunches . ”

Surprising imagination

Amateur designers publish their creations on social networks (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Youtube) with the hashtags #Toutelafrancedessine and #CultureChezNous ... without forgetting to mention @ 2020annéeBD.

We can therefore already discover a selection of strips, these short stories, already drawn. Florence Cestac is amazed at the result: “ I'm on Facebook, but I don't go there often. And I saw two results, really good things. I would not have thought of that. Internet users have imagination, that's good, keep it up ! "

Next Monday, it is the other sponsor of the year of the comic strip, the cartoonist Jul, who will offer two boxes to complete. A selection of contributions from Whole France draws! will be published each week on the sites and social networks that are partners of the operation and will be exhibited at the Cité internationale de la bande dessinée et de l'image during the next edition of the Angoulême International Comics Festival.
