Jordanian media reported that the security services arrested the owner of the "Roya" channel, Faris Al-Sayegh, and the presenter of the "Pulse of the Country" program, Mohammed Al-Khalidi, late on Thursday.

The reason for the arrest of Al-Sayegh and Al-Khaldi, 14 days pending the investigation, is due to the broadcast of a news report on the channel that was considered a "provocative article" in such circumstances in which Jordan imposed the highest state of emergency and applied the defense law throughout the Kingdom.

The "Roya" channel, which is widely spread in Jordan, has broadcast a poll that included televised interviews of citizens complaining about the economic situation due to the curfew, what the government considered to be an offense to the attempts of the Jordanian state and its efforts to control the Corona epidemic.

The poll, conducted by the channel, showed citizens working on a daily basis waving trade in drugs if they were not allowed to work and earn their livelihood.
