Closed at 8:00 pm at a izakaya in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Requested to shorten business hours. April 10 22:33

In response to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government requesting the restaurant to cooperate to shorten business hours, the izakaya in Shinjuku Ward cooperated ahead of the night on the 10th and closed the restaurant at 8:00 pm, four hours earlier than usual.

Memories Yokocho, which is near Shinjuku Station, is a small alley with small restaurants lined up and usually crowded with many people.

However, since late last month, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government called for self-restraint during the night, guests were far away, many restaurants were closed temporarily, and few people went on the night before the weekend.

At the izakaya, which had opened the store, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government requested the restaurant to cooperate to reduce business hours from midnight on the 11th, and closed the store four hours earlier at 8:00 pm. Decided to cooperate.

Around 7:30 pm, when the last customer returned, the clerk cleared the dishes, put the banner and goodwill that had been raised outside the store and closed the store on the 10th.

A sales clerk man said, "The sales in the store are small, and we are part-time workers, so if the time is short, the salary will be low and it will be hard. I want you to return to the factory soon."

At this izakaya, sales have fallen to about half of normal levels due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, but we plan to shorten the time after 11th and continue business.
