Ahmad, candidate from Koh Lanta, the island of heroes. - Philippe LEROUX / ALP / TF1

  • Ahmad was eliminated from "Koh Lanta, the island of heroes" broadcast this Friday on TF1.
  • The strategist side of the Lyonnais thirties cost him his place.
  • “I was lynched on social media. I was massacred by the character I represented, ”he laments to“ 20 Minutes ”.

The most strategic adventurer of Koh Lanta, the island of heroes had to put out his torch. At the end of the episode broadcast on Friday on TF1, Ahmad was eliminated by his acolytes who had ended up taking him in flu. Until then, the Lyonnais entrepreneur had managed to save his skin by chaining poker shots and rogue plans. If his tactical sense has earned him to be hated by a large part of the viewers, impossible to deny that the thirty-something has managed to pull out of the game when we would not have given much of his skin. “The adventurers preferred to get rid of me. They were right to do so. I'm not throwing stones at them, ”reacts the 30-something to 20 Minutes . Interview with a candidate who knows what playing means.

It seems that your vote against Eric at the previous council, when you announced that you would vote against Charlotte, cost you your place in "Koh Lanta". Moussa and Claude felt that you had acted by strategy and decided to no longer protect yourself. Do you regret this vote?

For me, it was used as a pretext to get me out. What cost me my place in the adventure was the different strategies that I was able to implement and especially the image that my comrades had of me over the days. I was quickly perceived as the brain of the reds, I was, rightly, held responsible for the elimination of Teheiura who then returned to the game within the yellow team and who told them what it was happening among the reds ... I had a huge target behind my back because of these positions.

Delphine [who settled his accounts with him by holding him responsible for his elimination] accentuated this image and it remained in the corner of people's heads. Moussa and Claude did not respect their commitment until the end. I think they wanted my head to fall quickly because I could be in trouble. They were right because I could have turned things around.

Why did you change your vote at the last moment?

I changed my vote only to protect myself after learning that the ex-reds were going to put my name in the ballot box, whereas until then they assured me that they would put that of Charlotte. It was four votes against me. So I decided to change my unnecessary vote (Charlotte) to a useful vote (Eric). I didn't want to find myself on the loose with Eric in case Pholien got the collar. I knew very well that I was not in a position of strength.

Looking back, do you think you could have gone much further or do you think that you still had a good trip?

I think I could have gone much further. The hardest part was really the start. In general, we eliminate the people who penalize in the tests. I was one of them, we saw him during the first immunity test [panicked in the water, he forced his team to retire]. This is why I quickly created affinities, alliances and took control of the red tribe. If I hadn't, I would have probably jumped. I had no choice. I had absolute control down to the ambassadors but everything fell apart afterwards. Overnight, I went from the top to the bottom. My strategy had changed but it could have brought me to the end. I had already negotiated to be the last of the reds to be eliminated, which would have given me enough time to identify the flaws in the yellow and exploit them. Sometimes being a free electron is a good thing on Koh Lanta , especially after reunification. There, the problem is that the others feared me too much on the strategic part and brain reversal. They preferred to get rid of me. They were right to do so. I'm not throwing stones at them, we're in Koh Lanta . I am responsible for my elimination. I am the one who made mistakes.

You have entrusted your black vote to Teheiura, is it a way to amend yourself?

I couldn't see myself giving it to the reds, who dropped me. Moussa and Claude who were my "best friends" made me think until the last minute that it was not me who would go out so I was disappointed with that. I preferred to give Téheiura the black vote. It is true that I wanted to eliminate the heroes because they had already had several chances to participate and that they were much too strong. But now that I'm eliminated, if one of the heroes can win, I'll be the happiest. I tried to eliminate them, it didn't work, they didn't follow me, well too bad.

Delphine, she still has not forgiven you for having contributed to its elimination during the Council of Ambassadors. Interviewed by "20 Minutes" recently, she said: "Ahmad betrayed me, he doesn't interest me". Do you think it will be possible to put the pieces back together?

I am not the only one who decided to eliminate it. I took this responsibility, I assume it. But play is play and reality is reality. I am in contact with adventurers, even people who have eliminated me or have not kept their promises and even people with whom I had no affinity and who have become very good friends today, with whom I went on a trip. You have to know how to share things and take a step back. I took the first step with Delphine, once or twice, she didn't answer me, so afterwards, I'm not going to make myself sick for her. It's a shame not to move on, but it's his choice and I respect him.

You have not been spared by social networks. You have been the target of hateful and violent messages ...

I was lynched on social media. I was massacred by the character I represented, because of my assertive positions and my strategic side. Koh Lanta is perceived as a sports program, I do not make the weight in this area there ... It stirred things up for me. But I have more and more supporters, people who understand me. I try to take the maximum of things with derision, not to answer too much.

How do you manage this pressure, especially in this context of confinement, which can be difficult at times to live with?

Since the beginning of the adventure I have been under pressure. I put everything on my shoulders, whether it was losing the first immunity, the elimination of Joseph, that of Teheiura. The lightnings fell on me. I was isolated.

I'm used to living with this pressure. I experience it a little differently with the broadcast, but it's not new to me. You have to be strong and armed. I understand that some people are sinking. This is not my case, for me everything is fine. But it's hard to take.
