Physical activity is a key factor in maintaining your health and well-being, and you can do some exercise well in the living room. Here, Christophe Fotier, head of customer care at the Hotel Terme Marine Monte Carlo, offers some tips for staying fit while you are at home.

Heart harmony exercises

The Heart Harmony Exercise provides you with some simple tools that give you a fast and sure feeling of health and wellness, and help you reduce sleep disorders, relieve anxiety and may help you relieve stress.

It is a simple and highly efficient exercise that can be performed by a healthy application on your smart watch: take a breath from the nose for five seconds, then exhale out of your mouth for five seconds, and repeat this process for five minutes.

We recommend that you do this exercise three times daily, for five minutes.

Muscle strengthening activity

This all-body exercise targets all the muscles of the thighs and legs (especially the quadriceps muscle, with the buttocks and hamstrings).

Stand on your feet and make the distance between them equal to the distance between your shoulders, and make your toes slightly outside, then bend and hold your arms at the height of the shoulders to keep your back straight. Take a breath then bend your legs while keeping your back straight and looking forward (do not look at the position of your feet), and go down until your thighs are parallel to the floor (do not drop more), then rise up while exhaling to return to the standing position.

Make sure not to stand too quickly, do not place your knees in an elevated position, and remember to bend them slightly.

To improve the performance of all your thigh muscles and maintain your balance, be sure to stick your heels on the floor.

We recommend that you repeat three groups of 10 bends, three times daily.

If you have a staircase in your home or apartment, this is a great opportunity where you can move up and down to keep fit.

Start with a system of 10 floors or nearly 200 degrees.

You can go up two degrees at once and then drop by one degree.
