A fire broke out in a house in Adachi-ku, Tokyo early in the morning of March 8, killing two men and women. The Metropolitan Police Department has confirmed that it is an elderly couple who lives in this house.

Around 3 am on the 8th, a nearby man reported to the Tokyo Fire Department that a fire was coming out of a house in Nishi-Ayase, Adachi-ku, Tokyo.

Twenty-five fire trucks rushed in and were almost extinguished approximately two hours later, but a two-story wooden house, a total of 110 square meters, burned, and two men and women died at the hospital where they were transported.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the house was home to a couple of men in their 90s and a woman in their 80s, but had lost contact after the fire.

The site is a residential area 500 meters from Kosuge Station on the Tobu Skytree Line. The Police Department and the Tokyo Fire Department are examining the cause of the fire while examining the death as a couple.
