Swedish hospitals have stopped using malaria chloroquine, which Trump described as a miracle drug, for coronavirus patients after reports of severe headache and vision loss.

A number of hospital patients in Västra Götaland County, 200 km west of Stockholm, Sweden, reported that they had convulsions, loss of peripheral vision and migraines within days of prescribing the drug.

For one in every 100 people, chloroquine can also cause your heartbeats to accelerate or drop significantly, which can lead to a fatal heart attack.

Chloroquine, which has been prescribed for malaria since the 1940s, has been designated as a possible treatment for people with coronavirus after it showed promising results in studies conducted in China.

Doctors in Europe, the United States, and China granted a license to try the drug on patients with the Corona virus, but Britain prevented doctors from applying it to patients until clinical trials were completed, citing concerns about its safety and efficacy.
