The Covid-19 epidemic continues to progress in New Aquitaine with 122 new confirmed cases identified by Public Health France. This new assessment, communicated by the Regional Health Agency this Wednesday, brings the total to 2,663 confirmed cases in the region since the start of the epidemic.

The ARS recalls that these figures do not include all of the Covid-19 untested persons identified by city medicine and that the department figures include cases that have not yet been geolocated and attributed to the laboratory department which carried out the test.

137 nursing homes out of the 898 in New Aquitaine affected

In detail, 797 people are currently hospitalized, five more than the previous day, and 242 people are currently in intensive care or intensive care (one less than the previous day). It should be noted that 739 people have left the hospital cured since the start of the epidemic but that the ARS deplores 165 deaths in total among hospitalized people (13 more compared to the previous day).

This Wednesday, according to data sent by the Ehpad, 137 establishments out of the 898 in Nouvelle-Aquitaine declared one or more possible or confirmed cases of Covid-19 among residents or staff. That makes 20 Ehpad affected more than the day before. Among these reports, 616 residents were recorded as confirmed or possible cases (suspects presenting with symptoms) Covid-19 (53 more compared to the previous day). Among these possible or confirmed cases, 32 died within the establishments (7 more compared to the previous day) and 19 died in the hospital.
