There will be no Printemps des Comédiens in Montpellier (Hérault).

The 34th edition of the festival, one of the most popular of the summer in the region, was to have from May 29 to June 27: due to the epidemic of Covid-19, the event is canceled.

"Considering the scale of the epidemic"

"The exceptional sanitary situation which we face and which already upsets our lives so profoundly forces us to this day to make difficult decisions", wrote in a press release, "with great sadness", the festival team, chaired by the writer Jean-Claude Carrière. "Given the scale of the epidemic, we believe that we must act with responsibility to protect the public and the large number of people required for the festival from any risk of contamination. "

The next edition of the Printemps des Comédiens will take place from May 28 to June 27, 2021.

Created in 1987, the festival hosts tens of thousands of shows each year, around plays, dance, concerts and exhibitions.
