Osaka Prefecture confirmed that 53 people were infected with the new coronavirus, the most on the night of July 7, and 40 of them reported that the route of infection was unknown. A total of 481 people were confirmed infected in Osaka Prefecture.
There were 53 men and women in their 20s and 70s who were newly infected in Osaka Prefecture. Of these, men in their 70s in both Osaka and Yao were severely ill.
Of the 53 individuals, 40 had no known route of transmission, and the remaining 13 had a family member or close contact with a person whose transmission route had not been identified.
In Osaka Prefecture, 481 people were confirmed to be infected, and more than half of them, 255 people, do not know the route of infection.
