"I have no idea how long it will last. I saw the doctor, she told me that you should expect a recovery of about a month," she said. In his case, the cough and headache are still well established. Anaïs also complains of a lack of appetite and a loss of taste to the point of "eating wasabi crisps" to continue to feel a semblance of flavor.

"We have the impression that we are not going to get there. It is a feeling that we never have in life except when we are underwater," explains Anaïs, who says he feels "ups and downs" in the fight against the Covid-19.

Forcing yourself to eat

On Europe 1, doctor Jimmy Mohamed explains that the situation of Anaïs is not an isolated case. "Some people develop an asymptomatic form of the disease without even realizing it. They for example have a small cough that lasts two to three weeks. On the contrary, others will keep a residual fatigue for two, three or four weeks. if the temperature and body aches are gone, they can sleep a lot and feel exhausted, "says the doctor.

Even if according to him, "the former patients are immune to this disease", "the remission and convalescence are longer than for a classic viral infection", as for influenza. Jimmy Mohamed therefore advises "rest, maintain correct hydration and try to eat". Indeed, the weight loss very often associated with Covid-19 can accentuate fatigue.
