While a "plateau rather than a peak" has been observed for a few days in the evolution of Covid-19 in New Aquitaine, according to the Regional Health Agency (ARS), the epidemic continues its slow progression in this relatively spared region. This Tuesday, 101 new confirmed cases are listed by Public Health France, which brings the total to 2,539 confirmed cases in New Aquitaine since the beginning of the epidemic.

In detail, 792 people are currently hospitalized, nine more compared to the previous day, 669 patients were discharged from the hospital, or 59 more compared to Monday. And if the ARS deplores 152 deaths among people hospitalized since the start of the epidemic (14 more compared to the day before), this Tuesday is also an opportunity to note that 243 people are currently in intensive care or intensive care , four less than the day before.

13% of Ehpad reported one or more cases of Covid-19

Finally, the ARS also takes stock in the nursing homes of New Aquitaine. One hundred and seventeen establishments (13%) of the 898 in the region declared one or more possible or confirmed cases of Covid-19 among residents or staff. Among these reports, 563 residents were recorded as confirmed or possible cases. Among these cases, 25 died in nursing homes and 18 died in hospital.

The ARS emphasizes that not all Ehpad are necessarily affected by a Covid-19 case and that these figures result from the data transmitted by the establishments between March 1 and April 7.
