The patient is a Macao resident who has lived in the UK for a long time. He and his wife and children were diagnosed successively after returning to Macau from the UK.

Liang Yihao, coordinator of the Infectious Disease Prevention and Disease Surveillance Department of the Health Bureau, introduced at the meeting that on March 26, this patient and five relatives and friends departed from London, England, and arrived at Hong Kong International Airport on the afternoon of the 27th. The same evening Returned to Macau via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge in a special car from the Macao SAR Government, and was arranged to conduct medical observation in a designated hotel. Two relatives and friends (wife and son) had been diagnosed with new coronary pneumonia (40th case and 41st case) earlier, so the patient was classified as a close contact and sent to the temporary medical isolation center for medical observation.

On March 31 and April 1, the patient's two nasopharyngeal swab test samples were negative for the new coronavirus test. Sore throat and cough appeared on April 2 and fever occurred on the evening of April 3. The nasopharyngeal swab test sample on April 5 tested positive for new coronavirus and was diagnosed with new coronary pneumonia.

Luo Yilong, the medical director of Earl of Jen General Hospital, said that 44 cases of new coronary pneumonia have been diagnosed in Macau, of which the first 10 cases have been cured and discharged, and 1 serious patient and 33 mild patients are still hospitalized for treatment.

Chen Lu, Director of the License and Supervision Department of the Tourism Administration, said that there are currently 1818 people who are making medical observations in 11 hotels, including 1,605 Macao residents, 176 foreign employees, and 37 other nationalities.
