We now know more about the progress of the patent and the bac 2020, whose organization is disrupted due to the epidemic of new coronavirus. The Minister of National Education, Jean-Michel Blanquer, spoke on Friday morning (the article can be found here). But what about other exams? This is what these 20 Minutes readers ask us:

"What about the (partial) higher education exams taking place in May?" Especially for licenses? »Chamard

"There are only for the bac: and students who have partial to pass? »Thomas

What about graduate studies? !!

Here are the answers we found:

To "preserve the health of students and guarantee equal treatment of all applicants", the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation proceeded to "revise the timetable and the procedures organization of national competitions planned for spring 2020 ”. And this after discussions with the conferences of university presidents, grandes écoles and directors of French engineering schools. A first communication was made Tuesday March 24, then updated three days later. We learn this:

  • An operational steering committee (chaired by Caroline Pascal, dean of the General Inspectorate of Education, Sport and Research) has been set up for this purpose. He will be responsible for "revising the competition format [number of tests, format, duration] to ensure that no student will be penalized".
  • The examinations of the national examinations and competitions which could not be held or which are to be held in the coming weeks will be rescheduled at a later date. In any event, "not before the very end of May".

The written tests of the #postBac competitions allowing access to selective undergraduate training in higher education will be replaced by an examination of the academic files of the candidates as part of the national pre-registration procedure on @parcoursup_info

  • Exceptionally, the written tests of the postbac competitions allowing access to selective undergraduate training (IEP type or Sesame competition) will be replaced by an examination of the academic files of the candidates as part of the national pre-registration procedure via Parcoursup.
  • The writings of the post-class preparatory exams for the grandes écoles initially scheduled for April and May are postponed. They must be reorganized from the end of May. This concerns the entrance exams to the grandes écoles (business and management schools like HEC or Essec, engineering schools like Centrale or Polytechnique) as well as those organized within universities to enter the second year of the medical studies (Paces).
  • The BTS tests will also be rescheduled from the end of May.
  • National Education recruitment competitions should take place, subject to changes in the health situation, between June and July. They will be the subject of a specific communication in the coming days, specifies the ministry.

It is specified that " each registered candidate will be personally informed of the new calendar and the terms of reorganization of the competition concerning him". An information page should soon be opened on the website of the Ministry of Higher Education.

All this information (which may change depending on the evolution of the crisis) is also available on the etudiant.gouv.fr page.

Regarding the partial of the universities, "the institutions adapt and already organize them in several forms (quiz, oral videoconferencing, homework ...)," said the ministry to AFP.
