A man must be tried in immediate appearance before the correctional court of Nîmes, this Thursday afternoon, suspected of having attacked members of the nursing staff, Wednesday evening, at the hospital of Nîmes, learned 20 Minutes from parquet.

The accused is accused of assaulting the staff of the Gard CHU while he was in the establishment, by pulling out a cutter.

"No tolerance"

He is also believed to have uttered death threats against hospital workers, and to have spat at them, indicating that he was hit by Covid-19.

The man was arrested Wednesday evening and taken into police custody. On Twitter, Eric Maurel, the public prosecutor of Nîmes, says that there will be "no tolerance for violence against hospital staff and carers". "Support for those who save lives," wrote the representative of the prosecution.
