To limit the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning as much as possible, airing your home for ten minutes each day is one of the precautions to be taken - M. DANIAU / AFP

Confined, OK, but don't forget to ventilate. The firefighters of the Alpes-Maritimes intervened Wednesday evening in Nice for poisoning with carbon monoxide and warn "facing the dangers of the house" in this period of crisis related to the coronavirus.

The rescuers were called in the evening in a private house, avenue Jean-de-la-Fontaine, to help four people from the same family (two adults and two children) who were inside the home.

A gas water heater leak

"Intoxicated but conscious, the victims were transported to the Pasteur 2 hospital in a hyperbaric chamber in order to guarantee the dissipation of the intoxication quickly," notes Sdis 06, specifying that the monoxide came from a leak in the water heater at gas.

"During this particular period of confinement, we recommend that all citizens stay alert to the dangers of the home, poisoning like domestic accidents, and to ventilate your home regularly," warn the firefighters.
