  • The first air sanitary bridge between Grand Est and Toulouse takes place this Wednesday.
  • By Friday, 18 patients will be sent from Colmar and Mulhouse to public and private establishments in Toulouse and Montauban.
  • Solidarity between establishments is also reflected in the departure of around fifty caregivers to Ile-de-France to reinforce the saturated resuscitation teams.

The first aerial health rotation between Grand Est and Toulouse takes place this Wednesday. Six Covid-19 positive patients in serious condition are expected in the early afternoon on the tarmac at Toulouse-Blagnac business airport to be taken care of by the emergency services of the Ville rose .

These patients, under respiratory assistance, were until now admitted in the hospitals of Mulhouse and Colmar, today in saturation situation, in particular in intensive care. It is therefore those of the Toulouse University Hospital, Toulouse Union clinics, Cedars and the Southern Cross, as well as the Montauban hospital center, who will take over to treat them.

To transfer them and facilitate these transfers, the SMUR teams will be accompanied by the police.

Thursday and Friday, other flights are planned and should allow the routing of 12 other patients, the regional health agency said in a press release. They will be taken care of in the same health establishments.

"The effort already made to increase the capacity for resuscitation in Occitania, and the exemplary coordination of public and private hospital establishments has made it possible to organize very quickly the care of these patients", indicates the ARS Occitanie.

Toulouse caregivers in Ile-de-France

The solidarity of the Occitanie region, less affected than others, is also reflected in the dispatch of human resources to the Ile de France. Thus, 50 caregivers, specialists in resuscitation, will go and lend a hand to hospital teams in the Paris region. "A first team of five nurses will leave Toulouse this Wednesday for this support mission," specifies the ARS.
