The presenter of the program Musique!, Live each evening on Europe 1 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., recommends three unknown artists to discover during confinement.

After two and a half weeks of confinement due to coronavirus, you have already listened to all your records, your vinyl turntable is overheated and you think you have toured the online music platform to which you have subscribed? Émilie Mazoyer, presenter of the Musique! on Europe 1, found three nuggets to discover and listen to without moderation.

The Inspector Cluzo, the "rock farmers" of the Southwest

Do you know The Inspector Cluzo? Their rock is quite engaged, a little nervous… But the album that Émilie Mazoyer recommends, Brothers in Ideals, is an acoustic disc. It was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee, with American musicians. These "rock farmers" go around the world with their music. United States, Canada and even Russia… The Inspector Cluzo scours festivals around the world.

But this French duo is rather surprising since in addition to the music, Laurent the guitarist and Mathieu the drummer are farmers. They raise geese on a farm near Mont-de-Marsan, in the Landes. And if you go to their website, you can both buy their records, but also foie gras or duck confit, produced by them…

Féfé and Leeroy, a fixed-term record

Another album to discover: 365 days, by Féfé and Leeroy. You may remember these two artists. Singers, rappers, authors, composers, they were part of the Saïan Supa Crew, a legendary group from the 2000s, made famous in particular thanks to the song Angela. When the group separated, each pursued a solo career.

And then, Féfé and Leeroy wanted to meet again ... but for only 365 days, not one more! If during confinement you have fun counting the days, know that you are not alone. The two artists started the countdown at the start of their project. More than 200 days have already passed.

The two artists are amazingly technical: they rap very quickly and very well. But the album also has more funk, more groove songs. The texts may also make you smile. Féfé and Leeroy don't hesitate to make fun of current rappers…

Charles Bradley, discovered late

Finally, you can listen to Black Velvet, by Charles Bradley. This American singer, who died 3 years ago, had an unusual career. After a complicated childhood, he went on to work: a cook in Alaska or in a psychiatric hospital in New York ... But he also performed in small rooms, where his incredible voice worked wonders. Marked by James Brown, whom he had in concert when he was a child, he was a bit like a vocal double.

A record company ends up spotting him and Charles Bradley ends up releasing his first professional album ... at the age of 63. Black Velvet is his fourth album, released posthumously. Ballads, love songs or more energetic songs, the lyrics are very beautiful. And he is accompanied by musicians who play with classical instruments of American soul music.
