Shiga Prefecture has announced that it has been newly confirmed that female students in their twenties at Kyoto Sangyo University living in Otsu have been infected with the new coronavirus.

The infection was confirmed in a fourth-year student at Kyoto Sangyo University, a woman in her 20s living in Otsu City.

According to Shiga Prefecture, female students attended a farewell party for a university seminar in Kyoto on 21st this month, and had symptoms such as fever of 37 degrees and stuffy nose from the 25th.

On 27th of this month, I consulted with the prefecture's Returnee and Contact Center, but at that time no infection was suspected, and she returned to normal fever.

However, at the farewell party at the university I attended, it was found that there were a number of people infected with the new coronavirus, and as a result of testing, infection was confirmed on the 31st. It is the seventh person to be infected in Shiga Prefecture.

According to the prefecture, female students are currently hospitalized at a medical institution in Otsu City, but they have few symptoms so far.

The prefecture is examining seven families and checking for other close contacts.
