Three of the nine brothers from the Capuchin convent in Crest in the Drôme have died of the coronavirus in recent days, we have learned from concordant sources. “Brother Armand has left us. The Capuchins of Crest are sorely tested, "the mayor of the city, Hervé Mariton, announced on Monday on his Facebook page.

The deceased was 78 years old and had a fragile health, just like the father Pierre, 85 years, died before him in the weekend, specified the convent. Both were hospitalized in serious condition after a first death on March 25, that of brother Emmanuel, 94 years old, according to Le Dauphiné Libéré .

The Capuchin convent received the special mission of accompanying and welcoming the elder brothers. "They are very brave, take great care, but they are elderly people with already fragile health," said Father Guillaume Teissier, vicar general of the diocese of Valence, reached by telephone.

Henri Grouès, better known under the name of Abbé Pierre, attended this convent from 1932 to 1938 to study theology.
