(Combating new crown pneumonia) 41 new confirmed cases in Hong Kong, 4 cases unknown, source of infection

China News Agency, Hong Kong, March 30 (Reporter Wang Laiyi) The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Health Protection Center of the Hong Kong SAR Government reported on the 30th that there were 41 new confirmed cases of new crown pneumonia in Hong Kong, and the total number of confirmed cases increased to 682.

Zhang Zhujun, director of the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Center for Health Protection of the Department of Health, introduced that the newly confirmed cases involved 21 men and 20 women, aged between 11 and 65. Of these, 34 had travel history, including 17 foreign students.

Of the confirmed cases with no outbound travel, one involved the Lan Kwai Fong Band group and four other cases with unknown source of infection, including a West Kowloon Mobile Police officer.

Zhang Zhujun said that the occurrence of no-source cases is worrying, the virus transmission route is not obvious, the transmission chain is not broken, or there is a possibility of a large outbreak at any time.

The Chief Executive Manager of the Hong Kong Hospital Authority Liu Jiaxian reported that 489 confirmed patients in Hong Kong are still being hospitalized for isolation and 124 have recovered and been discharged. As of 3 pm, 39 confirmed patients are awaiting admission to the hospital.

Liu Jiaxian said that the negative pressure facilities in some hospitals have been saturated, and the Hospital Authority will open second-line isolation wards one after another this week, arrange for the patients who are recovering and meet the conditions, and free up the first-line isolation wards to treat newly diagnosed patients.
