The crisis sharpens competition between models and fuels attempts at political recovery. The United States and China, major strategic adversaries, play their position of world leader.


The stakes are colossal. Beijing is in a position to appear in the emerging world as the helping power, a role which until now has been that of the USA. Can the crisis be fatal for Europe or the EU, can it on the contrary come out of it reinforced but under what conditions?
