(Combating new crown pneumonia) Hong Kong's confirmed cases increased to 641
China News Agency, Hong Kong, March 29 (Reporter Wang Laiyi) The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Health Protection Center of the Hong Kong SAR Government reported on the 29th that Hong Kong has newly added 59 confirmed cases of new crown pneumonia, and the cumulative number of confirmed cases has increased to 641.
Zhang Zhujun, director of the Department of Infectious Diseases, Center for Health Protection of the Department of Health, said that the newly confirmed cases involved 30 men and 29 women, aged between 11 and 77. Of these, 40 had travel history and had visited the UK, Europe and the United States, including 18 International students.
Among the confirmed cases without traveling, 7 confirmed patients belonged to the Lan Kwai Fong band group, including bar staff, bar customers, and a close contact who lived with the confirmed musician.
In addition, the source of infection in 6 confirmed cases was unknown, and some confirmed cases had been to bars in Causeway Bay, Sai Ying Pun, and Tsim Sha Tsui.
Zhang Zhujun said that the emergence of multiple cases of infection-free sources reflects the emergence of community transmission. He hopes to prevent social spread by maintaining social distance. The next two weeks will be a critical period and the public is urged to stay at home.
He Wanxia, the chief administrative manager of the Hong Kong Hospital Authority, reported that 204 new suspected cases were reported in Hong Kong in the past 24 hours. 430 confirmed patients are still in hospital for isolation and 118 people have recovered and been discharged.
He Wanxia said that the use of negative pressure wards in Hong Kong has exceeded 70%. She was worried that the situation would continue to worsen and she could not meet the demand. She did not want to paralyze the hospital, and urged the public to stay at home again. (Finish)
