Gunma prefecture announced on the night of August 8 that three people living in the prefecture have been newly infected with the new coronavirus. In total, 18 people were confirmed infected in the prefecture.

According to Gunma Prefecture, the two new cases of infection were confirmed by two female employees in their 50s who live in Tomioka City and those in their 50s who work in a welfare establishment for the elderly and disabled. There are three male employees in total.

Among them, one of the female office workers had symptoms such as fever and cough from 12th of this month and had been recuperating at home the next day, but as a result of the examination, the infection was confirmed.

Another woman, who works for a different company, had coughing and sore throat symptoms on the 23rd of this month and took a break from work the next day, but she had to work together on the 20th of the previous month. An acquaintance who ate was found to be positive when tested for another type of coronavirus infection in other prefectures.

And a male employee at a welfare establishment complained of symptoms such as coughs, fever, and reduced taste and smell from 23rd of this month, and the test confirmed the infection.

All three have basic disease, but prefecture is pushing forward investigation such as three infection routes or close contact that condition is stable.

With this, 18 people became infected in the prefecture, and one of them died.
