The Ministry of Defense has ordered the SDF to dispatch a disaster in an effort to strengthen border measures following the spread of the new coronavirus. We will support quarantine at airports and transportation to accommodation facilities through “voluntary dispatch” without requests from prefectures.

At the first meeting of the Governmental Headquarters under the Special Measures Law on Countermeasures against New Coronavirus, the government decided on the 26th of the year additional measures to strengthen border measures.

In response, the Ministry of Defense ordered the SDF to dispatch a disaster at 5:00 am on August 28 to strengthen shoreline measures.

Major activities include dispatching medical officers and nurses to Narita Airport to assist in virus testing. It means supporting transportation to accommodation.
